The United Shapes Cadet Snowboard 2026 is a directional, medium‑flex freeride board with a deep sidecut and early‑rise camber, built for riders who love carving hard, charging steeps and still having enough play for freestyle‑style hits.
| Rider Type | Intermediate to advanced freeride/all‑mountain |
| Shape | Directional with 5 mm taper |
| Flex | Medium (around 6/10) |
| Rocker | Early Rise Camber (camber with early‑rise nose) |
| Ability | Confident intermediates to experts |
The Cadet 2026 sits in United Shapes’ freeride line as a clean, directional board that blends a carvy, surfy feel with enough versatility for everyday resort riding. A traditional camber platform with a gentle early‑rise nose (United Shapes call it Early Rise Camber) gives you strong edge hold and pop underfoot, while helping the nose stay up when you’re in softer snow or slush. A 5 mm taper and directional outline keep the tail driving and the nose loose and floaty, but the stance still feels reasonably centred so it doesn’t ride like a super set‑back gun. Under the hood, the Classic Core uses poplar and paulownia with ash stringers to balance light weight, dampness and snap, backed up by triax fibreglass and X‑pattern carbon stringers for extra stability at speed. Eco‑leaning touches like bio‑resin and a recycled‑content sintered base round things out, delivering a fast yet durable ride that suits South Island freeride days just as much as carving laps at the local.
Early Rise Camber profile:
- 6 mm positive camber underfoot with an early‑rise nose for a mix of strong edge hold, pop and reliable float in softer snow.
Directional shape with 5 mm taper:
- Slightly wider nose than tail for better float and turn initiation while still feeling balanced enough for switch‑friendly riding.
Classic Core construction:
- Poplar and paulownia core with ash stringers for a lively yet damp ride that smooths out chunder and landings.
Triax fibreglass and carbon stringers:
- Triax glass and woven carbon X‑stringers add torsional strength, stability and precise handling at higher speeds.
Deep sidecut and medium flex:
- Deep sidecut and a medium (about 6/10) flex give energetic, engaging carves without feeling overly stiff or punishing.
Sintered 2100 base with bio‑resin:
- Fast, durable recycled‑content sintered base and bio‑based resin bring both performance and a lighter environmental footprint.
