Boot Fitter / Hardgoods Sales / Snow Technician
The team at BaseNZ Wanaka are looking for a new team member.
This is a snow focused hardgoods sales / boot fitting technician position reporting to shop managers.
This full-time position requires highly flexible seasonal working hours including evenings and weekends. Key responsibilities include maintaining a high level of customer service, sales, management, and maintenance of snow boot fit workshop area. Selling ski and snowboard hard goods with a passion for snow sports and elevating customer experience.
We are looking for a motivated team member who thrives in a busy and highly interactive work environment and has the following attributes:
- Min 2 years’ experience in ski & snowboard boot fitting
- Experienced in biomechanical foot assessment.
- Expert in making custom orthotics, installing heating systems, custom boot molds.
- Experience selling both ski and snowboard hard goods.
- The successful applicant will be a team player with a well-developed service focus and “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to use their own initiative, work independently and as part of a cohesive team.

Ski & snow board Rental technician
Ski &
Snowboard Rental Technician. You'll be the go-to person for fitting customers with skis,
snowboards, boots, and safety gear — making sure they leave the shop with
properly set-up equipment and a great start to their day on the mountain. This
role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy
environment, and has a passion for snow sports.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and guide
them through the rental process in a friendly and professional manner. - Fit and adjust ski and
snowboard boots, bindings, and equipment to suit individual needs and
ability levels. - Set DIN and binding
adjustments accurately and safely according to industry guidelines. - Maintain and service rental
gear daily — including cleaning, waxing, edge checks, and basic repairs. - Organise rental returns
efficiently and inspect gear for wear or damage. - Keep the rental area clean,
tidy, and well-stocked throughout the day. - Assist with inventory
management, including daily gear counts and stock organisation. - Answer customer questions
and offer advice on equipment selection, mountain conditions, or local
tips.
