The Line Sakana Skis 2027 are the latest evolution of Line’s cult swallowtail all‑mountain charger, rebuilt for freestyle abuse while keeping the same surfy, carve‑weird personality that made the original a standout.
| Rider Type | All‑mountain and freeride skiers who love carving and slashing |
| Ability | Advanced to expert |
| Rocker/Profile | 10‑4‑0 rocker profile – significant tip rocker, camber, no tail rocker |
| Tip/Waist/Tail (mm) | 150 / 105 / 138 @ 174 cm |
The 2027 Sakana sticks to its unique swallowtail shape and directional feel but gets a construction refresh aimed squarely at durability and creative skiing. A paulownia and maple wood core keeps the ski light yet supportive, helping it feel quick edge‑to‑edge while still holding steady when you start pushing the speed dial up. Carbon Flax Tape and fibreglass add smooth reinforcement without making the flex feel harsh, preserving the Sakana’s trademark on‑edge character. Thick‑Cut Sidewalls, Bio‑Resin, and Thin Tips toughen the ski up for rails, jibs and switch landings, while also reducing swing weight in the extremities. On snow, the 105 mm waist and pronounced shovel let the Sakana float and smear through soft snow, yet the 15 m radius and long effective edge mean it carves more like a narrower piste‑biased ski when you lay it over on firm groomers.
- Swallowtail geometry: Reduces tail surface area for quicker release out of carves and a shorter feel on firm snow without sacrificing soft‑snow support.
- Paulownia/maple wood core: Balances low weight with enough stiffness for confident edge hold and stability at speed.
- Carbon Flax Tape reinforcement: Adds power and torsional strength with a smoother, less twitchy feel than full carbon laminates.
- Thick‑Cut Sidewalls and Bio‑Resin: Increase durability and bonding strength for park‑ready toughness and long‑term reliability.
- Thin Tip design: Lightens swing weight and helps the ski feel more nimble when slashing, spinning, or pivoting in tighter terrain.
- 105 mm all‑mountain width: Delivers genuine float in soft snow while still feeling nimble and engaging on piste and mixed conditions.
