The Public Research Snowboard 2027 is Public’s most freeride-focused deck, a directional, tapered charger that still keeps enough freestyle feel to butter, pop, and play your way around the mountain.
| Rider Type | Freeride, all-mountain with freestyle flair |
| Shape | Directional with taper |
| Flex | Medium-stiff |
| Rocker | Mountain Alert Camber (directional hybrid camber) |
| Ability | Intermediate to expert |
The Public Research Snowboard 2027 is built for riders chasing powder, banked turns, and steep lines, but who still like to get a bit loose and freestyle‑inspired. Its directional shape with 8 mm of taper and a longer nose delivers easy float in soft snow and a powerful, drivey feel when you’re carving groomers or variable chop. The Mountain Alert Camber profile uses a mostly cambered platform for edge hold, control, and pop, with early rise in the nose and tail – the nose being more pronounced – to keep things surfy in deep snow and smooth into turns. A Poplar Light core and super‑fast sintered base keep it light underfoot with excellent glide, while Carbon V and tip‑to‑tail carbon stringers boost response, stability, and snap. It’s the board you grab when the forecast looks promising, the terrain gets bigger, and you want confident freeride performance with that familiar Public freestyle DNA.
- Directional tapered shape: 8 mm of taper and a longer nose improve float in powder and add drive and stability in steeps.
- Mountain Alert Camber: Directional camber with early-rise tips balances powerful edge hold with easier turn initiation and better float.
- Poplar Light core: Lightweight blend of poplar and lighter woods keeps the board nimble without sacrificing strength.
- Carbon V + carbon stringers: V-shaped tip and tail carbon plus tip-to-tail stringers increase response, pop, and stability at speed.
- Sintered base: High-end, fast-gliding base for better speed in fresh snow, cold conditions, and long traverses.
- Freeride-focused feel: Built to rail turns and float while keeping enough freestyle character for side hits and natural features.
