The Mammut Alugator Ultra Shovel is designed for fast-and-light ski touring and splitboard missions where every gram counts but you still demand full-strength rescue performance. Built from welded, aerospace-grade 7075 aluminium with a blade just 1 mm thick, it keeps weight to a minimum while stabilisation ribs and a hardened, anodised finish deliver the stiffness and durability you need in compact avalanche debris. The telescopic shaft uses an I-beam-inspired profile for excellent lateral and torsional rigidity, with an automatic spring lock that snaps into place quickly when seconds matter. A straight blade back is ideal for cutting clean snow profiles, while the sharpened, tilt-resistant edge with integrated steps lets you stomp the blade into hard snow for efficient digging. A symmetrical T-grip maximises power transfer with either hand, and the compact, space-saving blade design packs easily into smaller freeride and touring packs.
