High-performance avalanche shovel with a big, efficient blade and light, fast-handling feel for serious backcountry use.
The Mammut Alugator Pro Light Shovel is built for maximum moving power when it counts, combining the largest blade in Mammut’s range with a lightweight, pack-friendly design. A hardened, anodised aluminium blade is tuned specifically to cut through avalanche debris, with stabilisation ribs for stiffness and a sharpened, tilt-resistant edge that bites into hard snow. The oval telescopic shaft assembles quickly thanks to an automatic spring lock, and the ergonomically shaped T-grip helps you drive power through every scoop without wasting energy. A straight blade back lets you cut clean snow profiles for stability tests, while integrated steps and attachment holes mean the shovel can double as a snow anchor or part of a rescue sled system. Certified to the UIAA 156 avalanche shovel standard, it is designed to be a reliable, hard-working tool for ski touring, splitboarding, and freeride days where robust rescue gear is non-negotiable.
| Waterproofing | Hardened, anodised aluminium blade and corrosion-resistant shaft built to handle repeated use in wet snow and freeze–thaw conditions. |
| Warmth | Uninsulated rescue tool; ergonomic T-grip and smooth shaft profile are designed for efficient use with winter gloves so you can keep hands covered. |
| Fit | Telescopic oval shaft with quick-lock system, collapsing small for your pack and extending to a full working length for strong leverage while digging. |
