Soft gummy tuning stone for easy rust removal and smooth, controlled edge detuning.
The KUU Gum Stone Soft is a versatile, eraser-like stone designed for light edge clean-up on skis and snowboards. Its soft abrasive blend is ideal for lifting surface rust, polishing away small burrs and taking the bite off tips and tails without aggressively cutting into the metal. Compact enough to live in a tuning kit or pack, it’s a handy tool for detuning contact points so your skis or board feel less grabby while still holding a solid edge underfoot. Whether you are freshening edges between tunes or tidying them after a file or diamond stone, it adds a smooth, confidence-inspiring finish.
- Soft gummy construction: Gentle abrasive behaves like a gritty eraser, ideal for light rust removal and polishing work on steel edges.
- Detuning made easy: Great for dulling tips and tails so edges feel smoother and less hooky when rolling into and out of turns.
- Burr clean-up: Helps tidy minor burrs after filing or diamond-stone work without over-sharpening the edge.
- Compact dimensions: Small block size is easy to carry in a pocket, jacket or tuning kit for on- or off-mountain use.
- Finishing step tool: Best used as a final pass after more aggressive tools to refine the overall edge feel.
- For skis and snowboards: Suitable for all standard steel edges across resort, freeride and backcountry setups.

Works as expected for removing burrs on steel edges. Need quite a few pass-overs though but for a low tech none-electrical tool its alright. Bit expensive for a small piece of gummy stone. Works for removing rust too but scotch brite probably works faster for rust.
